Warm and radiant, powerful and sweet, Cinnamon Bark essential oil invokes energy and strength in both mind and body. As one of the world's most popular spices/herbs, Cinnamon boasts antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that certainly are something to write home about.

And on that note, the aroma itself does seem to whisk us away down memory lane somewhere with traditions of home, cozy autumn fragrances, apple pies, and crackling fires.

Body: A strong antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial, Cinnamon Bark promotes health, increases circulation, and improves tissue repair. It can help reduce high blood pressure, boost brain function, and stabilize blood sugar. It can also address candida, reduce allergic reactions, and fight viruses and infections.

Mind & Emotions: Cinnamon Bark can bring us out of negative states like nervousness and fear and help quiet aggressive responses such as spite, coldness or severity towards self or others, malice, and blame. It can help interrupt a mental pattern of introversion or superficiality and encourage directness and steadfastness. It has a history of being used to build courage and a sense of self-worth. Lending us stable, slow-burning mental energy, Cassia Bark invites us to choose benevolence, view life with practicality, and sit in a place of peace mentally.

Generally regarded as safe (GRAS) by the FDA

      Internal:

Although the quality of Selah Oils is excellent, it is not advised to take essential oils internally unless under the guidance of a certified physician who is also certified in aromatherapy. We recommend getting internal dosing instructions from a licensed physician as some essential oils are not recommended for oral consumption. This is in no way a reflection on our oil quality, only a matter of safety and caution with respect to how concentrated essential oils are. When used within safe parameters, and under your physician's care, the quality of our essential oils is such that they can be used internally if deemed appropriate.

However, with that said, it is important to remember the extreme concentration of essential oils. "Using essential oils by rubbing them into the skin or via inhalation is in many cases more effective than oral delivery" (3. p. 96).

All cautions listed for individual oils do not include those cautions from ingestion.

      Cautions

      Dilute well before applying.

Avoid using this oil while pregnant or breastfeeding.

Repeated use can cause contact sensitization. Can cause EXTREME skin irritation.

Use sparingly in diffuser; extended inhalation may result in irritation to nasal membranes.

May contribute to low blood sugar, especially if blood sugar-lowering meds are already being taken.

Drug interaction; may inhibit blood clotting; embryotoxicity; skin sensitization; mucous membrane irritation.

Large doses may harm liver, esp in those with existing liver disease. Do not use if already taking drugs (over the counter or prescription) that may harm the liver. If unsure, as your doctor.

      General EO Cautions:

All cautions listed for individual oils do not include those cautions from ingestion. It is not advised to take essential oils internally unless under the guidance of a licensed physician who is also certified in aromatherapy.

If for any reason you get essential oils in your eyes, put carrier oil along the eyebrows above the eyes and on the cheekbones below the eyes.

Do not put essential oils inside the ear canal.
