We have tested and proved the effectiveness of this spray in our very own back yard, the mosquito capital of the south - Southeast Texas. With this non-toxic, gentle blend, you'll be free to take on any adventure without the added risk of losing half your blood!

*For a phenomenal tick repellent, add in 2mL of Geranium essential oil.

Details & Ingredients

This Mosquito Repellent spray is a select blend of essential oils and ingredients including:

Fractionated Coconut (Capric and Capryllic Acid Triglycerides Fruit Oil), Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata Flower Oil), Catnip (Nepeta cataria Flower Oil), Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus Leaf Oil), Litsea (Litsea cubeba Fruit Oil), Cedarwood (Cedrus atlantica Bark Oil), Vanilla (Vanilla planifolia Fruit Oil).

Shelf Life: 4+ years in proper storage conditions

Storage: Store upright, lid tight, out of direct heat and sunlight

Applications

Topical:

Apply on desired location to keep mosquitos from biting.

Safe for use during pregnancy or lactation.

Ok for children 2+. We are often asked if this is suitable for children younger than two years. We would not suggest this with children younger than 8 months. For little ones older than that, a skin patch test is recommended. An ideal application for this young age would be to spray it in your hands and rub them together. Then gently pat your little one's skin and clothes. That will give her the fragrance that deters mosquitoes, but will not overdo it by applying too much directly on the skin.

Do not diffuse this blend. It could clog your diffuser.

Cautions

All cautions listed for individual oils do not include those cautions from ingestion. It is not advised to take essential oils internally unless under the guidance of a licensed physician who is also certified in aromatherapy.

Ylang Ylang:

Repeated use can possibly result in contact sensitization. Take care when using Ylang Ylang, for too high a concentration or using it for too long a time, can give rise to nausea and/or headache (2. p. 315). Ylang-ylang essential oil has a deeply relaxing effect and should not be used prior to driving, operating machinery, or doing other tasks that require concentration (3. p. 421). Use with caution on children under the age of two due to possible skin irritation.

Catnip:

Skin sensitization (low risk); may be psychotropic. (1. p. 237)

Eucalyptus Globulus:

Not intended for small children. Use with caution while breastfeeding. Avoid using this oil with homeopathic remedies. Do not apply to or near the face of infants and children under the age of 10 (can cause breathing problems in babies and young children).

Litsea:

Contraindicated with drugs that are metabolized by CYP2B6. If you are unsure, consult your physician. Hazards: Drug interaction; teratogenicity (A teratogen is an agent that can disturb the development of the embryo or fetus); skin allergy. Cautions: Hypersensitive, diseased or damaged skin, diabetes medication, children under 2 years of age. Use with caution orally during pregnancy or lactation. (1. p. 349-350) Max daily oral dose is 2 drops.

If for any reason you get essential oils in your eyes, put carrier oil along the eyebrows above the eyes and on the cheekbones below the eyes.

Do not put essential oils inside your ear canal.

No known contraindications.
